The DVD says: As a young boy, Kyle (Chaney Kley) claimed to have seen the tooth fairy. He also claimed she tried to kill him. When evil emerges again, Kyle must return home to confront his troubled past and save his childhood sweetheart Caitlin (Emma Caulfield) and her younger brother Michael. Kyle must do battle with the winged creature of doom he saw that night so many years ago, which has plagued the town of Darkness Falls for over one hundred and fifty years. Evil is back with a vengeance. And it's not leaving without Caitlin's brother. Running Time: 82 mins Region: 2 Ratio: 2.40:1 Sound: Dolby Digital 5.1 Special Features: Writers & Filmmakers Commentaries, 7 Deleted Scenes, Making-of-Featurette, Legend of Matilda Dixon Featurette, Storyboard Comparisons, Theatrical Trailer. Certificate: 15 My Opinion: Darkness Falls is one of those pleasant surprises you sometimes get when you pick up a movie off the rental shop shelf. From the cover it looks like your usual boring horror movie, but once you get it home you find it has that little bit extra. The opening has you on the edge of your seat (or behind your cushion) and sets up the whole movie. There are some wonderful scenes in the film which keep the tension as the victims try to stay in the light and out of the shadows, but this soon starts to get a little boring as not a lot else happens. There's no real blood or guts and so the tension is relied on to keep it going. The DVD isn't 'light' on the extras so you won't be left in the 'dark' about the film.
