The DVD says: A band of british soldiers are sent to the Scottish Highlands on special training manoeuvres. Their biggest worry - stuck in the middle of nowhere and missing a vital England vs. Germany World Cup qualifier. Things take a turn for the worse when they stumble upon Captain Ryan - who appears to be the sole survivor of a Special Operations team that were literally torn to pieces. Ryan refuses to disclose the secret behind his mission, even though whoever or whatever ate his men seems hungry for seconds. Help arrives in the form of local girl Megan, who shelters then in a deserted farmhouse deep in the forest... but when they realise that it's home to a pack of blood lusting werewolves, it's apparent their nightmare has just begun! Can they hold out until first light? How much ammunition do they have left? Who is Captain Ryan? And more importantly, did England beat Germany? Dog Soldiers fuses wicked black humour with edge-of-the-seat slasher horror in the vein of 'The Evil Dead'. Starring Sean Pertwee, Kevin McKidd and Liam Cunningham as the twisted Ryan... it'll leave you howling for more! Running Time: 101 mins Region: 2 Ratio: 1.85:1 Sound: Dolby Digital 5.1 Special Features: 2 Commentaries, Deleted Scenes, Making Of Feature, Director's Short film, Gag Reel, Trailers, Storyboards. Certificate: 15 My Opinion: Excellent british horror film (well they usually are the best!) which is better to watch if you don't know what the movie is about. The only real down point is the amount of time that you see the werewolves on screen. This improves as you get further into the film and the final showdown is full of action and thrills. The DVD has a large amount of extras for a single disk release and they're worth every penny. REVIEW EXTRA: Screenshots - May contain spoilers |
