Psycho - Remake (DVD)

The DVD says: Criminal on the run, Marion Crane (Anne Heche) takes refuge at the motel operated by Norman Bates (Vince Vaughn) - a troubled man whose victims encounter a grisly fate at the hands of his "mother". Marion soon becomes the next victim and her disappearance prompts inquiries from her sister (Julianne Moore) and a private investigator (William H. Macy). They both soon discover the morbid bond linking Norman to his mysterious "mother" at the Bates Motel. Relive the terror in acclaimed director Gus Van Sant's all new version of Alfred Hitchcock's masterpiece of suspense... Psycho. Running Time: 100 mins Region: 2 Ratio: 1.85:1 Sound: Dolby Digital 5.1 Special Features: Psycho Path - The making of Psycho, Commentary by Gus Van Sant, Anne Heche and Vince Vaughn, Production Notes, Cast and Filmmaker's Notes, Theatrical Trailer, Screen Savers. Certificate: 15 My Opinion: This film was canned by some critics for just being an exact remake of Alfred Hitchcock's classic, but you need to take it as it is. It's a brilliant tribute to the original picture updated to colour to allow the younger generation to enjoy a wonderful story. Vince Vaughn is fantastic as Norman Bates. I didn't think anybody could fit into Anthony Perkins shoes, but he does it with his own style. The DVD is packed with extras and is worth every penny, especially with the interesting commentary. |
